So what is Micellar water and how did it come to be?
Micellar water has cells with a water-loving (hydrophilic) head and a water-hating (hydrophobic) tail. So when micelles are paired with soft water they become cleansing marvels. When those micelles get close to anything that isn’t water – like dirt, sebum build-up and makeup in our pores – those hydrophobic tails attract and pull out all the impurities, leaving behind perfectly clean, hydrated skin. The French have been using micellar water for decades to counter their hard water.
